Indian Farmer Awards

I have blogged about the love of powerful Indian politicians for European and American academic awards and honours. Why is there no competition whatsoever, among these politicians to get a similar distinguished award from the farmers of India ?
Will none of these politicians be delighted to receive an honorary award, or distinguished plaque, or shield, or certificate, or merit, or doctorate, from the farmers of India ?
Is it that the farmers of India can only give their land as an award to these politicians and distinguished illuminaries of Parliament and the Vidhan Sabhas and Raj Bhavans of India ?
But the wily Indian politicians know which awards to accept and which awards to disregard. And now they also do not want the Munna Bhai style of awards, because it reeks of Gandhi giri. Who wants land and dust and mud and awards from semi naked men who do not even dress properly.
It spoils the whiteness of the creased white khadi, or the new style linen that these politicians are switching to, in these times of global warming.
So guys, head for the hallowed portals of European universities and American colleges.
